A regional favorite chose a Claremore venue to make a major announcement.
Wednesday night the owners of Fat Toad Brewing Company gathered at Claremore's Tap on the Tracks to make a major announcement—they have been selected as the first tenant in MidAmerica Industrial Park's "The District" in Pryor.
Fat Toad announced this week they will be growing their business to a 15-barrel brewing capacity system and adding a wood-fired pizza restaurant.
"We opened our brewery about two and a half years ago and the industrial park had been considering doing something out there to attract more people that work at the park, to live in Pryor rather than commute from Tulsa," said Fat Toad co-owner David Miller. "They saw us opening a brewery and thought that's cool and might attract people so we started talking about it then."
Miller said the brewing system has been ordered and they should be in their new space around November.
He said there's no denying that pizza and beer are a winning combination, so they're excited to bring that offering to the community.
"Tap On the Tracks opened right around the time we did. We've had a great partnership with the. Andrew and Scott are great, even before we were distributing they were over asking how they could get our beer on their taps," he said. "So they wanted to host a pint night for us so we could make that announcement."
He said a crowd gathered for a night of fun, giveaways and the exciting announcement.
"Since we opened we have focused on supporting Oklahoma brewers and that includes Fat Toad. We have been among some of their strongest supporters and we were delighted that they chose Tap on the Tracks for their expansion announcement," said Tap on the Tracks co-owner Andrew Jones-Brothers. "We are incredibly happy for their success."
About The District
Officials at MidAmerica Industrial Park broke ground on The District in September of 2018 and construction is currently underway on the new 162-acre development that incorporates retail, residential, parks and trails near the State of Oklahoma’s largest employment center in Pryor.
The retail area will be completed in the fall of 2020 and will include 32,000 square feet of retail space.
